Kotagala Plantations

About Us

Kotagala plantationsExcellence in Diversity

We are a leading public listed company specializing in the management of tea, rubber, and oil palm estates in Sri Lanka.

Initially, Kotagala Plantations comprised 10 high-grown tea properties situated in the Dimbulla district, along with 14 rubber and tea cum rubber properties in the Kalutara district. Over time, we have expanded our portfolio through strategic acquisitions, amalgamations, and exchanges. Today, our company has evolved to encompass 10 high-grown properties and 11 rubber, tea cum rubber, and oil palm estates in the low country.

At Kotagala, we take pride in our diverse agricultural operations. With 12 tea factories and 8 rubber factories, we possess the infrastructure and expertise to produce various types of tea, including rotorvane, leafy, and CTC manufacture. Our rubber manufacturing capabilities encompass crepe, sole crepe, and centrifuged production methods. Further, we have ventured into oil palm cultivation, adding another dimension to our agricultural endeavours.

As an industry leader, Kotagala Plantations has pioneered advancements in plantation management. We were the first company in Sri Lanka to introduce mechanized plucking, revolutionizing tea production. Embracing advanced technology in agriculture, we continually strive for efficiency and innovation.

At Kotagala, sustainability is at the core of our practices. We are committed to environmental conservation, responsible resource management, and social well-being. Our estates are certified by prestigious organizations such as ISO and Rainforest Alliance, reflecting our dedication to sustainable agriculture and ethical business practices.

Our commitment to diversity extends beyond our crops. We foster an inclusive and supportive work environment, valuing the contributions of our diverse workforce. We prioritize the well-being and development of our employees, empowering them to grow alongside the company.

At Kotagala Plantations, we invite you to savour the finest tea, rubber, and oil palm products that embody our passion and dedication. With a blend of tradition, innovation, and a strong focus on sustainability, we are shaping a brighter future for the agricultural industry.
